About Thomas Restifo
As in the play by Neil Simon; I was born but not, “Lost in Yonkers”.
My childhood was greatly influenced by color, form, and design with my participation in the family floral business. Now in my retirement having moved to Prescott Arizona, I have the time and studio to embrace two dimensional arts and seek to fulfill my desire to become an accomplished artist.
What has always been a wonderment to me is, just what makes an artist. Does it mean financial success in your medium, does it mean shows, people flocking to your door, articles in magazines, or is it learning to live with your fears and doubts and still continue to produce works that may delight the soul of a viewer?
I welcome the never ending pursuit of artistic development, attending workshops, art classes, and always striving to improve stroke by stroke. I’m inspired by many artists, through friendships, workshops, and their informative critiques.
I have little intention in becoming a niche artist, cranking out one style or medium, my greatest joy is the diversity that art encompasses.
